Events

Events play a major role in the dissemination of the BioMaxEff vision and results. Members of the consortium will deliver presentations at major industry conferences and fairs across Europe and four dedicated BioMaxEff Workshop events will be scheduled across the course of the project.

ICCE 2014

The International Conference on Clean Energy 2014 (ICCE) took place in June 2014 in Istanbul. The conference considered the clean energy related topics, including solar energy and wind energy, biomass and biofuels, waste to energy, clean coal and clean fossil fuels, carbon sequestration and carbon tax, energy storage and energy conservation, environmental impact and remediation, sustainable development and energy management. Results of the BioMaxEff project were presented in a poster entitled "Full load and load cycle testing of a 12 kW biomass boiler using different pellet qualities: Impact on efficiency and emissions", which is  available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

PM 2014

PM2014 was the sixth Italian National Conference on atmospheric particulate matter. The conference was held on 20-23 May 2014 in Genova, Italy. A poster comparing the PM emission of high efficiency pellet boilers and the PM emission of oil and gas boilers was presented in the conference and is is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

Purdue 2014

The International High Performance Buildings Conference took place at Purdue University, in the USA. Topics for the 2014 conference included building envelope systems, indoor environment and air quality, visual and thermal comfort, building energy modeling and simulation, building performance monitoring and diagnostics, HVAC systems, building controls, renewable and sustainable energy technologies for buildings, and related case studies on high performance building design and operation. Results of the field monitoring of a pellet boiler installed in a low energy house were presented in one of the conference sessions. The concerned conference paper is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

WRF 2014

The World Resources Forum (WRF) is the global science-based platform for sharing knowledge about the economic, political, social and environmental implications of global resource use. WRF promotes innovation for resource productivity by building bridges among researchers, policymakers, business, SMEs, NGOs and the public. Results of the BioMaxEff Project were presented in a poster entitled "Life Cycle Costing Analysis and Life Cycle Assessment of Sustainable and Innovative Biomass Heating Systems". The poster is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

WSED 2014

The Conference World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) 2014 was held in Wels on 26-28 Febraury 2014. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)  and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) of small scale pellet boilers, investigated in the frame of the BioMaxEff project, were presented in a poster by UCSC. A second poster, presented by CERTH, focussed on the impact of pellet quality on efficiency and emissions from a pellet boiler. Finally, in the WSEDNext conference for young researchers, BE2020 presented a short paper about the simulation of a low energy house heated by a pellet boiler. The posters and the paper are available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

MRE Conference 2013

The International Congress on Materials and Renewable Energy took place in 2013 in Athens. The conference topics were renewable energy, advanced materials for energy conversion and storage, energy efficiency and conservation, energy modelling and simualation and emerging energy technology. Results of the BioMaxEff project were included in a presentation entitled "Emissions and efficiency of small-scale biomass boilers: results from EU projects". The presentation is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

European Biomass Conference and Exhibition 2013

The Conference discussed major issues for the biomass markets, in technical and business areas, from resource assessment to market and policy developments, drawing on leading experiences from all over Europe and worldwide. In the edition 2013, a poster  entitled “Characterization of modern biomass heating and domestic hot water supply systems” was presented in the poster session dedicated to small scale biomass combustion. The poster is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

WSED 2013

The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) are organised by the energy agency of Upper Austria with the mission of promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. The conference takes place every year in Wels and it is one of the largest annual conferences in this field in Europe, offering a combination of events on sustainable energy.  The conference makes an important contribution to awareness raising for green energy and energy efficiency.  In the Conference WSED 2013, the outcomes of the BioMaxEff project were presented with two posters: the first, entitled ”Environmental impact assessment of a high efficiency small scale pellet boiler” was presented at the  European Pellet Conference, the second, entitled “Heat demand of residential buildings in Europe: Performance of different building typologies” was presented at the WSEDNext conference for young researchers. Both poster are available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

IEA Bioenergy Conference 2012

The IEA Bioenergy Conference 2012 provided to stakeholders in R & D, industry and policy an insight into the recent research and market developments in bioenergy. The conference addressed all stages in bioenergy systems: from growth of biomass, to conversion to energy carriers and use for energy services. Cross cutting topics like sustainability (GHG emissions), socio-economy and trade were also discussed. In the frame of BioMaxEff project, a presentation entitled “Annual efficiency of small scale biomass combustion systems" was held. The presentation is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.

European Biomass Conference and Exhibition 2012

The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EU BC&E) is a leading event in the Biomass sector, combining a highly respected international Conference with an Industrial Exhibition. It highlights progress in research, technological development and production processes.  In the edition 2012, a poster  entitled “Technical and systems assessment of innovative flexible micro-CHP concepts for solid biofuels” was presented in the frame of the BioMaxEff project. The poster is available for download in this website at the "Download" Section.
