The BioMaxEff project is the result of a proposal submitted under the EC’s FP7 call ENERGY.2010.4.2-1: Demonstration of a New Generation of Boilers and Stoves.
This call requires the combined demonstration and market deployment of a new generation of high efficiency biomass boilers and/or stoves in the range up to 100kWth. The following impacts are anticipated by the call:
- Very low levels of pollutants emissions (especially fine particulates)
- High efficiencies
- Low costs
- Increased market share
- High impact on air quality in cities during the heating season
BioMaxEff aims to achieve all of these impacts through the development, intensive demonstration and wide market deployment of 10 innovative biomass heating concepts designed and optimised for installation in three major biomass market segments:
- New Build Housing (in particular prefabricated low energy houses)
- Refurbished Housing
- Boiler Exchange
A consortium of technical, industry and biomass market experts from across the European Union will collaborate over a three year period to ensure that BioMaxEff delivers against these impacts and that the 10 novel biomass heating solutions demonstrated within the project are well adapted to the various market and climactic conditions of the European continent.
The BioMaxEff team would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the project website. Here you will find background information on the project and details of the consortium partners, you will also be able to track the project’s progress, download data and results and contact us if you have any questions.
